About this JSON Formatter
The JSON Formatter takes raw or messy JSON and makes it readable: pretty print with clean indentation, validate and pinpoint syntax errors, minify, sort keys, explore a tree view, and convert to other formats such as CSV and YAML. It is the tool you open when an API response lands as one long line, or when a config file refuses to parse and the error message gives you nothing.
How to use the JSON Formatter
- Paste your JSON into the input panel, or drop a .json file onto it.
- Choose Format to pretty print it, or use the tree view to explore nested objects and arrays.
- Copy the result, download it, or switch to Minify, Sort or a converter when you need a different shape.
Good to know
- Validation errors point at the problem instead of just failing, which speeds up debugging API payloads.
- Sorting keys makes two responses easy to compare in a diff, because the field order stops jumping around.
- Large payloads are safe to paste: the formatting happens in your tab, so private response data is never uploaded.
