About this URL Encoder

The URL Encoder encodes and decodes percent-encoded URLs and components, and breaks a URL down into editable parts: protocol, host, path and individual query parameters. It earns its keep when a redirect URI fails to match, or when a query string arrives double-encoded.

How to use the URL Encoder

  1. Paste a URL or a piece of text to encode or decode it.
  2. Use the breakdown to inspect and edit single query parameters.
  3. Copy the rebuilt URL or the encoded component when it looks right.

Good to know

  • Encode a full URL and encode a single component are different jobs; the tool keeps them separate.
  • Double encoding (%2520 instead of %20) is a common cause of broken links and failed OAuth redirects.
  • Editing parameters in the breakdown is safer than hand-editing a long query string.
